¡° Thank you from the bottom of my heart for arranging everything for us. First of all, I found out that Irelands souvenier are a bit cheaper than Scotland. I should have bought a lot more cute key chains and t-shirts.

We saw the1) Firth of Clyde, 2) Sterling Castle, 3) Village of Luss ( I would recommend this as part of your tour) We were not there that long but it is such beautiful village with full of flowers in front of people's residences 4) viewed part of the Loch and......... I was not sure if we ate 5) lunch in Aberfoyle Village but then again.......we are easy customers. I believe we were on the other side of the dock. We ate in another place with our guide and treated him like family. We decided not to do the cruise on the Balloch because after looking at the time, there just wouldn't be enough time to go back to the ship. We would have been biting our nails if we had added that cruise. We considered the traffic also going back. It was our own judgement call even though I am sure that the guide would have relented because it was part of our arrangement. We were thankful that we did not do the cruise. The ride going back became stress free!

Guide: The name of our guide is Roland Smith. Please use him if you can possibly get him. He is the funniest, easy going, hard-working, and the best tour guide we ever-ever had. If you want to change carreer Mike, sponsor this guy and ask him to be his manager while he is performing his act as a comedian. You will be rich in no time. He is good!!!, really good!!! He can imitate several character voices, this guy is gifted and very natural.

As for Edinburgh, the problem here was that from the ship, you have to be tendered to the dock. That got our schedule skewed. We were 40 minutes late meeting our guide because of the numbering inside the ship. The people that got the shore excursion from Princess got out of the little boat first while the rest waited for the transportation to come back to the ship. We were happy that we included 1) Rosslyn Chapel to our list of must see. Going into the city, we saw a glimpse of Arthurs Seat. We were drop off close to Edinburgh Castle, saw the castle (very impressive), went to some of the store at the royal mile, gobbled our fish and chips along the way then got picked up to see Hollyrood.

Day Tour to Loch Ness and the Highlands from Glasgow (TourID: 1005)
Date: April 7, 2010

¡° This was my first trip to Scotland but I plan to return with my husband in the future! The tour was wonderful - wish the weather would have been a bit more agreeable but nothing to be done about that:-) Our tour guide did a very nice job of providing us with historical facts and I LOVED the Scottish music that he provided. I felt completely comfortable with his driving too!

I will not hesitate to use your services in the future.

Loch Lomond, Whisky, and Stirling Castle Tour Experience from Edinburgh (TourID: 1102)
Date: September 1, 2010

¡° Me and my son attend a one-day tour (Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond and Glengoyne destilleries) in the beginning of September 2010.

Our main goal was Glengoyne visit, because both of us are intrested in malt whisky. During the day we found the tour very intresting, Stirling castle with guidence very good and the stop on Loch Lomond was beautiful. The landscape was much like Sweden. Your driver/guide was very good, he talked a lot but we get a good picture of the historical part of Scotland.

Loch Ness and Scottish Highlands Day Tour from Edinburgh (TourID: 1006)
Date: June 3, 2010

¡° We were a group of 10 students and a teacher from Denmark. We were in Scotland for 5 days and the 12 hour trip that we had with our company was the best. We have talked a lot about it since. The best thing was the driver and his guiding. He was so funny and entertaining. He made the hours fly by so quickly. The natur in Scotland is absolutely beautiful and we really got to see that during the trip.

The prices were fair and the bus was very comfortable. The size of the bus, around 33 persons, was really good, because it made you feel more related to the driver and the other people.

The only thing we wish we could have gone, was to take a little walk in one of the valleys with the mountains on both sides. But we know that there wasn't enough time.

All in all we have a great trip, that we will always combine with Scotland.

Rachel Jensen from Denmark

¡° We had an absolute blast - thanks for your efforts on our behalf.

The guide was great. He did a really good job of balancing showing us some of the sights, giving us information, and knowing when we were looking to break off on our own. In my experience guides can be a bit pushy and try to show you everything, but we were treated really well and never felt rushed.

The distilleries chosen were great, especially Glengoyne - really nice place, very nicely done, and my friends and I actually purchased a cask of whisky together. This means, of course, that we'll be coming back often (and again in November, for which I'll be emailing you later to help arrange some travel and accommodation).

Gleneagles was fantastic - truly one of the best places we could have stayed. The service was great, and the staff were astoundingly accommodating - even as my friends and I drank most of the whisky we bought earlier in the day and smoked cigars on the croquet pitch. Great choice, and we'd recommend it to anyone thinking about partaking of shooting, golf, or just a nice stay in a beautiful place. Also, very nice spa area that was included in the room price.

Bottom line, your itinerary was great, didn't push us too far while showing us enough of the country to feel like we were outside of the cities, and the driver was fantastic. We'd recommend your services to any friends heading to Scotland, and the driver specifically if he's available when they come calling.

Thanks again, and look forward to working with you again when we return for the cask-filling in November.

¡° We were very happy with the tour. I booked this tour for a small group short-term study abroad program. The booking process was fairly easy. The instructor leading the group was able to access the tour with the vouchers provided. Feedback from the instructor was very positive:

This was a great tour. The driver was Bobby. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. He had inside stories for everywhere we went. We learned in-depth history between stops on the tour. We really enjoyed his tour. Very professional.

Overall we would be happy to use Go Scotland Tours again!

¡° Just to let you know that my friend and I really enjoyed the tour that we booked from Canada in May, the weather was quite bad, but no one can do anything about that, we were a bit disappointed at not going to Inverness, as we thought that was part of the tour, and would have enjoyed that instead of some waterfalls etc. but considering the weather it was understandable.

Rosslyn Chapel, Scotland/England border and Hadrian’s Wall Tour from Edinburgh (TourID: 1110)
Date: April 12, 2011

¡° I went on the Rosslyn Chapel, Scotland/England border and Hadrian's Wall Tour from Edinburgh / ItinID: 122122288 Date: Mon, 11 Apr 2011 06:19:49 -0500 -- and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

I had wanted to see Hadrian's Wall forever, and I Go Scotland Tours was the only day trip out to Hadrian's Wall that I could find -- all others were multi-day trips. So I booked. (I believe we stopped at Melrose as well -- but it's not listed above in the Tour Description).

Booking was easy -- and you were very helpful when I emailed to say that I couldn't print the confirmation (because I didn't have a printer) -- you told me just to bring the confirmation number.

Our guide was wonderful -- pleasant, and knowledgeable, and personable; providing some good insight and good conversation with travellers on the tour. The day provided a good amount of time at each location -- I never felt rushed. Each stop provided time to walk around and see a primary site -- but it never felt touristy.

I've never been on a big bus tour because I don't think I could bare it -- the small coach tours are perfect -- and yours was excellent.

I am hoping to be in Scotland again in 2012, and I will definitely look at taking a tour through your group again.

I truly enjoyed the day, and would recommend it to friends.

¡° Both Beverly and myself rate our experience with the initial booking process and our driver/guide, David, as excellent. Thanks so much for setting us up with David Ladd. Both of us found David to be knowledgeable and passionate about Scotland and its history, and we came away with a greater understanding of our clan histories. David managed our time well. He did not rush us and we had time to walk through the various sites and appreciate the history he related to us.

Date: July 30, 2011

¡° We are back from our eight-days in Scotland. In Stirling on July 30 we had one of our best tours ever!!

Over the past four years, My wife and I have spent holidays in 34 cities in 22 countries and worked with tour guides in most places. Our experiences have all been very good. So, when I say that Joe Clifford was one of the best, it should really means something.

We found him to be extremely knowledgeable about Stirling and Scottish history; he was never at a loss responding to any of our many questions. Equally important, he was very professional and easy to work with. Joe is a nice person who loves his job and we would recommend him to anyone in an instant. Thank you for matching us up with Joe!

Scottish Highlands, Loch Ness and Legends Day Tour from Edinburgh (TourID: 1113)

¡° We were on the 12 hour trip up into nothern Scotland. We were on the smaller bus with approx 12 people. which my husband and I really enjoyed I would not have wanted to be on the larger bus, with more people (we saw these tours at the stops that we made)

What made the trip soooo enjoyable was our tour guide Rose. She. herself was a total delight, and how she told the stories and info was so entertaining, they kept us interested in what we were seeing and hearing. Making the hole trip seem less than the 12 hours. The scenery in it self was magnificent, but the information and stories that Rose told us made everything really come alive for us making the trip really awesome.

On the shores of Loch Ness and Highlands Experience Tour from Edinburgh (TourID: 1098)
Date: September 30, 2011

¡° My tour was awesome, thanks. The driver was really cool, I think his name was Mav, but I can't remember exactly. He was informative, but relaxed and funny. The tour itself took in so many great sights, and the stop times were pretty much perfect every time. It really showed off Scotland as the beautiful, richly historic country it is. I won't hesitate to recommend your company to anyone who is planning on travelling to Scotland. If I absolutely had to find any little thing to constructively criticise, it wouldn't be about your tour, but I would suggest a complete ban on cellphone usage whilst in the tour van. Although it didn't happen frequently, there was one person on my tour who had a couple of medium-length conversations over the two day tour, which I'm sure could have waited until we were stopped somewhere. Oh and lastly, the initial booking process was very easy to follow, although I did have issues initially booking the tour but you sorted that out within a day of me contacting you about it so definitely no problems there.

Thanks again, I hope to come back and do your Orkney and Outer Hebrides tour at some stage next year.

¡° WE were very pleased with the tour. The guide was pretty easy to understand compared to a lot of persons in businesses and restaurants with whom we talked. He was full of stories and events that took place on Skye and between Skye and Edinburgh. (At least he told a lot and we have to assume they are all true.) He altered the pick ups on Friday and Saturday morning giving folks different opportunities to sit at a different place. We were very pleased with the guide, sites visited, and various stops. He was generous in making a couple of alterations when as a whole the group or a large portion of the group was not particularly interested in seeing a site -- the wiskey making visit and Van Dagen (sp) castle/palace. Our B&B was very comfortable and the breakfast was served on time and good quality.

He was passionate about Scotland, maybe a little too cutting about the English....... but all in all I couldn't fault him. He was fun and looked after everyone. ¡° I wanted to write you about the tour my friend and I experienced in Skye.

- First of all, the minivan was very comfortable, very clean and calm.
- The group (which doens't really depend on you) was so nice and relaxed.
- The bed&breakfest we stayed at the first day in Skye was AMAZING!!!! the hosts there were nice, adorable and gave us everything we asked for. The hotel in Loch-Ness was also very beautiful, clean, great great food and hosting.
- The places we visited at (the tour itself) were amazing. I couldn't ask for better places to visit at. It seems like Allan (which I will soon be talking about) took us to the most amazing places in Scotland that I couldn't even dream about. I loved every place, I didnt feel we were wasting time and seeing things that are not super special and I felt everything was orgaznied perfectly. you chose amazing places to take us to!
- Allan was absolutely great. He told us so intersting stories, drove calm and easy, helped us with every little question we had, treated us so nice, explained everything perfectly and just was super. I will give him 10 points our of 10. he is a great great great tour guide, I'm so happy he was our guide.

I really honestly tell you the tour was amazing, everything was perfect, on time, beautiful places and great treatment. I could not ask for more.
Thank you so much about the patience, the quick answers and I amazing experience I had in Skye becuase of you. I will definitely and for sure recommend this tour to everyone I know will fly to Scotland. I'm so pleased with everything, have nothing bad to say.
Amazing tour, great tour guide and pleasant treatement.

Orkney and the Outer Hebrides Tour (TourID: 1063)
Date: August 24, 2012

¡° Hi. My husband and I toured on the 9-day tour starting on August 24th, and I apologize that it has taken me so long to write this email. Mostly companies only get correspondence from customers when things are bad, but this one is very much needed because you all did everything right.

I booked the tour thru Mike at GoScotland Tours way back in March or April, not really knowing what I was getting into since I had never been to Scotland and never been on an organized tour before. Mike was very helpful and answered my questions and made sure we had what we needed for the tour.

Our first tour guide was George, who turned out to be an absolute delight. He had wonderful stories, a great sense of humor, and was always very good about explaining each day's itinerary, and also making sure we were comfortable with the places we would be visiting (like going thru the entrance at Maeshowe). He played wonderful music on the bus, lots of bagpipe music and folk songs and even a few quirky things, but also some more modern music too, but music everyone could enjoy. And he was so obviously proud of Scotland and it's history, and he even choked up a little when talking about Glencoe and the Commando Memorial. And he's an animal lover, which is always a big plus with us.

Our second tour guide was Eric, also a very entertaining and knowledgeable man. Eric was totally different from George, where George was clearly more interested in the history of Scotland, Eric pointed out it's beauty. It was a nice contrast and we got a very good taste of the country. And Eric sang to us, which was an added bonus.

Anyway, we wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our trip, thanks to GoScotland Tours, and especially thanks to George and Eric, two tour guides you can certainly be proud to have on your payroll. We are definitely hooked on small-group tours, and we only hope that some day you add a tour to the Shetland Islands to your list of destinations. When you do, we are ready to go!

Thanks again for a wonderful view of Scotland,

Frank and Debra Flanders from California, USA

Loch Ness, Glencoe and Scottish Highlands Day Tour Experience from Edinburgh (TourID: 1100)
Date: May 24, 2012

¡° My friend and I booked a trip for a tour at the end of May from Edinburgh to Loch Ness. We heard lots of great things about the highlands, but were only in Scotland for a few days, so we thought a tour would be best.

Our tour guide was Kenny, and he was fantastic! We left on time and Kenny was very great about explaining the main rule of the tour: Don't be late back to the bus! As a result, we got to see a lot more and make a few extra stops.

Kenny had a great mix of both his own stories as well as some audio tapes to tell the stories of Scotland and it's people. I learned so very much! It was great to mix things up with some history, some music, and Kenny's great stories.

All of our stops were beautiful. Loch Ness was amazing. We saw some hairy coos. We saw Glen Coe (which has now been the picture on my desktop for months!) There were castles and ruins and so much more. I don't think we could have fit any more into the tour than we did. It was totally worth the money! Honestly, I could go on and on about what a great time we had. And I am usually not one for tours!

To make a long story short, we had a great time. We recommended the tour to our friends who we met up with in London a few days later. They were making the trip to Ediburgh as well. From what I hear, they went and had just as great a time.

Thank you for making our trip fantastic!

The Isle of Skye Experience Tour from Glasgow (TourID: 1096)
Date: August 31, 2012

¡° I recently took your Highland Experience three day tour from Glasgow and wanted to leave some feedback.

The tour took in some wonderful scenery and we were shown a wide variety of places. The group enjoyed all aspects of the tour and were given good value for money (despite the atrocious weather on Saturday Sept. 1st which, of course is out-with your control).

Eddie is a lively and enthusiastic guide with a wide knowledge of Scottish History. He did his best to show us as many places of beauty and interest as possible, even though Skye was covered in mist and rain. His local and national knowledge was invaluable for choosing best places to eat and visit.

Accommodation was clean and friendly and the additional cruise on Loch Ness was excellent value for money. Weather was wonderful on Sept. 2nd.

Loch Ness, Glencoe and Scottish Highlands Day Tour Experience from Edinburgh (TourID: 1100)
Date: October 22, 2012

¡° I have received an e-mail requesting feedback on our tour. We are from Canada and went on the Loch Ness/Highland tour on August 22nd. We very much enjoyed it! The booking was easy and the tour was wonderful. It was more driving than I expected (I though the stops, particularly the Loch Ness) would be longer. But we were well entertained on all that drving and felt the tour guide was very knowledgable and the information very interesting. She was friendly, couteous and funny. The driver was professional and an excellent driver (no small feat on those narrow roads, I'm sure!) It was nice to get out of the city and experience the other parts of Scotland. My older son has decided that was his favorite part of being over there - and says, if he ever was to go back, he would like to do a backpacking tour of the highlands! It was a long day, but wonderful, and we felt that we certainly learned much more about Scotland than we ever would have known otherwise. Thank-you.

Scotland Island Hopping Adventure Tour (TourID: 1045)
Date: July 30, 2012

¡° I really enjoyed the opportunity to tour Scotland recently through your Company and I appreciate all that you did to make it as seamless as possible. The web site was informative, your answers precise and the voucher system worked well.

The Tour Company was excellent and I would recommend them for their professionalism, expertise and affability of their leaders. Although, they had a beautiful backdrop in which to work, I enjoyed every aspect of the 13 Day Island hopping. Everything worked smoothly and even one small hiccup with accommodation was swiftly solved. Thank you for directing this traveler to an excellent touring company - probably the best I have experienced. I could not add anything to suggest any improvements.

I thought the component aspect was brilliant - the tour was three sections which led to the changing of the leader and the bus group and this provided a richer mosaic of Scotland and its people. The content of the tour was good and each leader brought their own unique and individual perspective to the history, geography and its people. Overall the accommodation varied from brilliant(Portree) to average on Lewis. It would have been good to have spent another day on Orkney just to absorb the rich archaeology. Perhaps the only part of the tour which repeated itself was in the center - especially Lock Ness three times from all angles. However, this might be hard to redo as the three components seemed to pivot around the center of Scotland. But then, each leader made it interesting and even the weather ensured a different perspective each time. So, rating out of 100 - 110%. An excellent combination.

The Magical Highlands Tour of Scotland (TourID: 1153)

¡° I was extremely impressed with this tour!! First, let me give credit to our amazing tour guide. Unfortunately I forget his name, but he was phenomenal! He was very passionate about everything, and so knowledgeable about the history of Scotland and random things. He was probably the best part of the tour! Also, I enjoyed being with a smaller group of people. The atmosphere was great both on and off the bus, and despite the rain on the first day, our stops were well worth it. I would definitely recommend this tour to other people.

¡° The trip went well. It delivered on what was promised. The tour started and ended at the time specified. The extra history lesson ( by the driver) on Scotland was much appreciated.

The initial booking process was easy and convenient, considering that I did it from India. There were no problems at all.

I had a great time. It was convenient and went as planned . I could not ask for anything more.

Ian, our guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable of the sites and their history. The transportation was comfortable and Ian made the travel between locations entertaining. We were a small group of six which helped the tour go smoothly and we actually finished about an hour early. It was a great tour overall and I would recommend it to others.

We had perfect weather, gracious hosts at the B&Bs, and learned tons about Scotland’s history. It was one of the best experiences we have ever had traveling. We don’t usually do guided tours but now we might start since it was so comfortable and interesting, especially when we had never been there before. Again, kudos to Steve for making it all so great

Orkney and the Outer Hebrides Tour (TourID: 1063)
Date: June 29, 2012

¡° As we travelled all the way from Cape Town, we were looking forward to a tour that encompassed the beauty of Scotland, it's huge (and tragic) History, and be given an inside view to special places that are sometimes 'hidden' from view.

Our tour was organized like clockwork. It gave a balance of the above, plus walks to stretch the legs, whilst viewing places of interest.

Our tour was both of Scotland, the Orkney Islands, (with Mike) and were joined by Doug at Ullapool as we headed for Lewis and Harris, and Skye. We were fortunate to have these two Scotsman, who knew their homeland, and this included giving us on the spot information about shops, restaurants and many interesting facts about the places we were taken to, or passed through. We simply could not have arranged such a tour on our own! We particularly liked the visit to the man Doug found, (en ex dentist), who restored a weaving machine, and showed us how it is done - Fascinating, and a very nice touch. (Needless to say, we visited the Harris Tweed shop in Tarbet, and came away with produce - marked 'with the Orb'!) So special! We could have had another half hour there.

I feel I must make special mention of the B&B in Kirkwall, (a magic place) - namely No 13 Palace Road. Everything was first class. Our B&B at Inverness too was very comfortable - namely Rossmount on 32 Argyll Street. The kind landlady at Ullapool on 24 Putney Street, even did all our washing - out of kindness! Her husband was from the Shetland Islands, and loaned me literature to read up about this special place, including 'Up helli ja' (sp?) It was a special stay in a special place. Our Stornoway in Lewis was rather too cramped and not in the league of the others.

Having spoken to my other sister, and she is now to thinking about doing to do the Orkney tour next summer!

We found the Scottish tour to be an all embracing one, and I hope there is a tour to Skye, to see Elgor, have a closer look at the Cullin Mountains, the folk and weaving centres. If you have such a tour, perhaps you would like to bring it to my attention. A visit to Mull, perhaps from Oban, would be a worthwhile addition to packaging this tour, I think.

We appreciate your email, and trust it will give you an idea of our experiences

¡° The driver/host, was very informative, friendly and pleasant. His driving was excellent and the tour overall was very enjoyable. But as being a whiskey tour we sampled only four distilleries and two whiskey shops. I would have liked to have been able to stop at more distilleries as we passed many on the road. I would recommend this tour to those who are interested in being introduced to whiskey.

¡° We went to Orkney Islands in June and did a day tour. The whole tour was very professionally run. The guide was very knowledgeable and mixed humor with points of interest. The overall impression was that it was one of our highlights of our trip which included Scotland, England , and Croatia. I have given our local travel company a copy of your free newspaper Islander, so they can gain more knowledge of the Orkney Islands, and will hopefully recommend it to more people as a place to visit. So thank you for a very memorable Orkney experience. We have, and will continue to recommend both your company and the Island as a place to visit

Orkney and the Outer Hebrides Tour (TourID: 1063)
Date: May 11, 2012

¡° I can’t say enough wonderful things about the tours I took. There isn’t anything I would change. The guides were funny, informative, entertaining, thoughtful and also safe drivers. They went out of their way several times to show us things. We had Michael for my first tour – absolutely loved by all of us; and Eric, the singing kilt-wearing one who was just as perfect but in a different way.

All of the people on the 2 tours that I took were friendly – okay most of them were – and I made a friend for life. We all looked after each other so that no one would be alone. There were no clicks. The vans were very comfortable and they are all window! Even if you were not at a window seat, you could see fine.

Having only 16 people is great. On the second tour we only had 11 – 4 of us had also been on the first tour.

The Scots are wonderful people – kind, accommodating, NOT stingy!, with a great sense of humor. Edinburgh was a grand city. I loved that it had many varied cultures and skin colors throughout the city and everyone seemed upbeat. I took the hop-on, hop-off bus twice in a 24 hour period and got to see and learn a lot.

Some of the food was awesome but not all of it. The pastries and meat or vegie pies were the best. I had Skink Soup and Prune & Brandy Ice Cream – two menu items I will probably never again come across anywhere!

If I had one suggestion, it would be that when we were dropped off in a city or town, we had no idea where to go to eat and it would be helpful if there was a list of places to go. We spent quite a bit of time wandering around looking for a place in some places.

The Bed & Breakfasts were interesting and the breakfasts were very good and plentiful. The only problems I incurred involved the unique plumbing and electrical fixtures I encountered, some with very funny tales to tell.

On the shores of Loch Ness and Highlands Experience Tour from Edinburgh (TourID: 1098)
Date: May 5, 2012

¡° Right from the first, it was a wonderful trip in all. The drivers (Collin and Bob - photos attached) were amazingly educated about the places of visit. They were professional and very pleasant to talk to and always helpful.

The best part of our trip was the overnight stay at Drumnadrochit. We never have tried a BnB share in our trips. We're more of the hotel room booking kind. We were in a for a surprise when we were shown a BnB at Kilmore Farmhouse. Very pleasant couple (Alan and Sue), happy to help and host us. Beautiful place to stay too.

Being a GPS tracker kind of person and a culture photographer, I'd say this trip was the best I could gather in such a short notice. GoScotlandTours made our life during the trip really easy and we loved every single moment of it.

Any time I'd recommend this service to my friends, relatives, colleagues who look forward to visit Scotland.

You've a beautiful country there. Will come back sometime.

Tour
:  the mini Bus arrived punctual in the morning and the trip was completed the day after at the expected time . It was clean and comfortable . The driver was supportive and helping in the luggage accommodation on board . The Guide ( Joe Clifford ) was very professional and always ready in providing the requested info and answers to the several questions . He was able to keep a good level of communication with a foreign team where some people had a very limited knowledge of the language . His pronounce was clear and understandable by most of us . Always available to adapt when possible to the requests while keeping the overall trip in schedule .

¡° Kenny was a delight !! I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed the day. Everything I wanted to see - I saw. I asked Kenny about the Bond movie, Skyfall, which was my inspiration for doing the tour. He showed me exactly where it was filmed - details of how they did it, just amazing. I'm sure you know what a treasure you have in him. The only thing I might suggest is with the bus being completely full maybe you should have the ability for people to lock in seats somehow. As a single traveller it was easy for me, but some of the couples could not sit together. Thanks for a wonderful day. Love to Kenny.

Scotland Island Hopping Adventure Tour (TourID: 1045)
Date: August 10, 2015

¡° This was a FANTASTIC trip. Six of us did the whole 2 week tour and others joined for 1 or 2 segments of it. Apart from the drive from Edinburgh to Oban where it poured almost all day, the weather was kind to us albeit cold in August but we were dressed appropriately. Our first guide Karen was funny, caring and very well informed and the guide on our final segment, Andy, was a lot of fun and all 3 of our guides were excellent drivers/guides. B&B's were all comfortable with en suite bathrooms and a special mention to Alltavona House in Oban. I was so glad that you made all the arrangements. We could never have managed all the ferries and accommodation on our own. The minivan was comfortable and there was plenty of room for our luggage in the back. It was wonderful to visit so many of the islands and we were glad we paid the little bit extra to visit Staffa and wander into Fingal's Cave. It was truly magnificent. Thanks also to the guides for restaurant recommendations and reservations where necessary. I would highly recommend Go Scotland  for this chance to tour the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. Great breakfast choices in all the B&B's kept us fueled up for most of the day.

¡° I was in Scotland for 3 weeks last August. I prepared this journey by myself. I red books and checked documentaries. For sure, one part of my trip will be Orkneys islands. I had enjoy my long day travel. Beautiful sceneries along the coast, not to windy on the sea and another bus ride around the islands. I was impress by the people in the main city of Kirkwall, the cafe and boutique, the guide knows what he is talking about. Skara Brae and ring of Brodgar really worth the price. I wished I had more time to spend in that wonderful country.

Orkney Islands Day Tour from Inverness (TourID: 1238)
Date: July 8, 2015

¡° Thanks for the chance to make a few comments. We were most particularly impressed with the commentary on both both coaches, that is, from Inverness to John O'Groats and on Orkney. They were full of interesting historical and social allusions to the landscape through which we were passing. On Orkney we were also very pleased that the coach captain was so well informed on the current archaeological excavations. As it was the first day of the annual 'dig' it was clear that, even if it had been possible, it would take too much time to have a full briefing from the team on the ground. We did wonder whether, depending on what is possible, it could have been more productive to visit the burial site of Maeshowe rather than the Ring of Brodgar. Orkney turned on real Orkney 'fine' weather with sleet and salt spray al over Skara Brae, but that was, nevertheless, all we had expected of it and the timeline along the path to the site was a real education for our 12 years old grandson.

He encouraged us to get to know the other travellers, which was excellent advice - and we'd do an even better job of doing this next time. The Royal Hotel was a poor choice on our part, so next time I'd take the advice of the tour company. We'd come to Scotland again and again, and we'd be sure to use this company for more tours. ¡° My travel companion, Angus MacDonald, and I had a fabulous time on our trip to Scotland! We especially enjoyed the tour to the Orkneys. Our driver and guide, Gail, was knowledgable, entertaining and helpful! I am disabled and travel with a wheelchair. She was always caring and never failed to make sure that I was okay. We would like to thank her and maybe send her a couple of photos, Would I reach her at your email address? I had read about the ancient ruins in the Orkneys in National Geographic. Angus' grandfather was born in Inverness and I am also of Scottish descent. These are the reasons that we chose to travel to Scotland. It was everything that we imagined and hoped for. Everyday we saw interesting and famous things. (Of course we stopped for a while by Loch Ness but sadly didn't see Nessie!) We especially loved seeing the little village with the thatched cottage and old school house. We are both teachers so the school was meaningful for both of us. The places that you had arranged for us to stay and the breakfasts were perfect and the ruins were unbelievable! Please thank Gail for us and let me know if it's possible to contact her. ¡° Despite the weather it was a lovely day out through interesting and beautiful countryside in the company of an amiable and informed guide; the only quibble could be that the time spent in Beauly far outweighed any minimal interest of the area and meant too little time was allocated to Loch Ness, though this was partially due to the late return of several of our fellow travellers to the bus severely delaying our departure.

Rosslyn Chapel, Scotland/England border and Hadrian’s Wall Tour from Edinburgh (TourID: 1110)
Date: May 4, 2015

¡° This was our very first tour, so we approached it with an open mind. We made a mistake and sat in the back, and learned quickly to sit in the front. The driver was entertaining, informatable and a pleasure. We first stopped at Rosslyn Chapel. It was simple beautiful. My only suggestion would be to not sit and listen to the speaker, in the chapel. You can walk around and listen and look. I could have spent an hour more in the chapel. Hadrians Wall was interesting for those that are interested in Roman history in the UK. I especially liked the stop we made at the boarders of Scotland and England. It was a great photo op, being able to take a picture in two countries. Go scotland tours was a pleasure to book with, and we had no disappointments. I would recommend this tour company, for any tours. We took two with them, while in Scotland and felt it was a great way to cover a lot of ground , history, and scenic interest's that we had, in a short amount of time. In two days we went from Inverness to the boarders, which very little effort, and no stress of driving. That was a great way to vacation. If your short on time , consider a tour. It was worth the time.

¡° We had a wonderful time going to Loch Ness and the Highlands. The driver was a native of Scotland, and shared so much history along the route. I highly recommend this tour. If you are reluctant to take a tour, I would say, don't be. We could have hired a car and drove it ourselves, but we would have missed out on the drivers stories and information. He talked with us and answered questions from the passengers, stuff you can't read about. Pat, gave us a true understanding of the people of Scotland, the culture, both historically and in current times. We took the castle tours aswell, and then the boat ride. If your going to Loch Ness, why wouldn't you want to be on the water. It was so worth it. Dress for the weather, as on our day, it was windy, rainy and cold. Exactly what I imagined The Highlands to be. Go Scotland tours was very easy to book online, from the U.S. and everything was as it states in the discription. For a first timer, my tip to all, is to arrive early so your at the head of the line and sit as close to the front as possible, if you want to engage in conversation with the driver.

Our tour was excellent, and the price was very reasonable. We cruise often and have to say this was much better then a ship tour. If we travel again to Scotland we will definitely contact Go Scotland Tours again.

¡° We had a wonderful time on our tour! From the moment we got on the bus our guide john informed and entertained us. We had plenty of time to tour the Castle followed by a lovely lunch at Loch Lomond. My favorite part was driving through the highlands listening to Paul McCartney sing Mull of Kintyre! The Distillery of Glengoyne was fabulous and we are still enjoying our "purchases"! My only regret is that it didn't last longer, but now we know we will return one day! Thank you for a very memorable experience.

¡° Before the trip we are a bit sceptical on the accommodation and the places covered in the trip but now I could say it was one of the best tours we have ever booked. The trip has become such a wonderful memory only because of Joe who needs a special applause. He has covered many places which we never thought would visit, extremely patient and most dedicated person. I have spread the good word and kudos team, definitely looking forward for many more tours. Yes we stay in Scotland and will be looking for more tours next summer.

¡° The trip was great and well organised. We had a fascinating tour of Orkney and the local bus driver was able to provide a lot of local knowledge in his commentary. My only criticism was on the bus trip back to Inverness there was no effort to provide any commentary or to engage with customers. We didn't need lots of commentary on the return trip but some hilights would have been nice.

Our guide was terrific - his incorporation of music and historical details really added to the enjoyment of our trip. His insight into local eateries etc. was very helpful. We would like to have seen Andrew Carnegie's home, but realized time was short. Pre-trip, the staff was extremely helpful with all of our questions and giving us directions. I would highly recommend Go Scotland Tours, in fact my daughter toured with them when she visited Scotland a month after our visit!

¡° What a wonderful tour. The drive was spectacular with breathtaking views of the Scottish country side. Our driver was excellent and had many stories to tell particularly about the history of the area. We really enjoyed listening to the choice of Scottish music played during times when our driver took a break from talking. Oban is a delightful town and we had enough time to enjoy the various shops and sample some of the fresh seafood. We had no regrets about taking this tour. Having someone else do the driving allowed us to enjoy the excursion without trying to drive on a side of the road we are not used to.

¡° Had a pleasant tour up to the Highlands. The guide, Stephen, was very knowledgeable about the area, and kept us entertained the whole way with anecdotes, jokes, and a personalized music playlist of Scottish-related tunes. Although the weather was unpredictable and super cold (being winter), nevertheless I enjoyed the stops we made to take photos of the beautiful Highlands, from Loch Lomond to Glencoe to Loch Ness. One thing that I would reconsider is the extra tour of Urquhart Castle and cruise on Loch Ness: price was a bit expensive, and I did not find the cruise on the Loch Ness worth it. Thanks again for the lovely tour!

Highlands, Loch Ness and Whisky Day Tour from Edinburgh (TourID: 1393)
Date: March 8, 2016

¡°  I have to start our review of this tour with a grade... it will make it the most recognizable statement as to what we thought... We give this tour an A+++++!! Let me explain~ As we got our coffee and waited to be collected from outside the coffee shop a driver came in with a clipboard and list...and many of the other people stood and followed her to the large coach waiting outside. She didn't however have our names on her list... we walked outside and quickly were approached by a lady asking if we were looking for GoScotlandTours...our reply was yes and to our dismay/concern her reply was ~ well follow me you are my only passengers today... yikes we thought as we watched the large tour bus fill up in front of us.. and here we were climbing into a small van!! What had we signed up for we thought....WELL.... rest assured all was to be revealed!!! We had the optimal and best time ever! We has a private tour in a small vehicle, capable of turning on to smaller streets and making random stops if we wanted to see anything else or take a quick photo.. Our Driver/Guide for the day Moira McCrae was hands down spectacular! Her vast knowledge and titbits about all things Scotland was inspiring and completely enthralling. We had such an amazing day. We headed out on our drive up to the highlands and along the way she had so much to tell us about this amazing land, we felt so completely informed and she was delight to converse with. We stopped about an hour out for a "tea/coffee break" at a little cafe, which if I am being honest wasn't good at all. The pastries were elementary and the tea well... not the best! The bathroom was sub par also. It would be my recommendation that, that cafe by given a miss and perhaps that stop just an hour in to the day was unnecessary, and the town while quaint, offered nothing to see. On we went to the Dalwhinnie distillery which was a scheduled request of my husbands... it was well worth the stop, however worth noting here that we had to wait for 40 minutes for the 15 min tour..that really we could have been whipped through by one of the several people who stood around behind the counter for the 40 minutes waiting for more people to gather.. a more frequent tour time schedule would maximize the guests day who are trying to fit in a lot in one day. That being said, it was memorable and the libations taste at the end with the square of chocolate was divine... on we went again and we saw so much and Moira spoke so well of all the history, culture & oddities of the land and scenery and sights that we passed. We stopped at Loch Ness for lunch and again if I am being honest...the restaurant option was sub par. The place appeared quite dirty and the staff unfriendly and the food...marginal at best. Soup was hot..but beyond that nothing more to add! We had the best time with Moira and have so many sweet memories of our time with her and of our day on the Loch Ness & Whisky Tour, we are grateful beyond words for her and her dedication to her craft. The two elements we disliked were likely both beyond your control...though perhaps seeing about better cafes to stop at for the breaks would be a great thing to consider. Please Thank Moira again...and we recommend her far beyond highly and are envious of those in her company today on the highways and byways of the highlands. Best Regards from a snowy Pennsylvania Neve & Michael Hennessey A++++++++++++ grade!!!! :)

The Isle of Skye Experience Tour from Edinburgh (TourID: 1095)
Date: April 30, 2016

¡°  Hi, I had an amazing experience with the 3 day Isle of Skye tour. Thanks for that. However, I just wanted had a small request. I was travelling from London to Edinburgh via bus the previous night and my bus was scheduled to reach Edinburgh at 8:00 AM. Unfortunately, there was an accident on our way and we had to take diversions because of which my bus our arrived at 8:25. I reached the pick up point at about 8:33 - jus a couple of minutes late but the bus had started. I had to spend an additional £ 100 to take a cab from Edinburgh to Glasgow to board the bus from there. While I do understand and appreciate the need for timing, you must also take cognizance of exceptional circumstances. The first day of the trip ended at 6.30 and it would not have cost much if it ended at 6.35 - and even the 5 minutes could have been easily made up as we were on the road throughout. However, for me, it cost an additional £ 100. I am aware that there are other passengers and if I had not intimated the relevant people I wouldn't expect them to stay. But I had called them up and told them all I needed was probably 5 minutes more. The tour guide could have been a bit more considerate. Nevertheless, I had a great time over the next 3 days and would like to thank you for that.  Thanks Subhash

Extended Full Day Tour to Isle of Skye from Inverness (TourID: 1389)
Date: June 5, 2016

¡°  It was a very lovely experience and I totally enjoyed the tour. The weather was great and the landscapes stunning. I liked the pace of the tour and the way we were able to see so much without being rushed. It felt like we did not waste a minute while taking time to make pictures and admire the views. Wonderful content aside, the services were amazing as well. Our guide was very knowledgeable and he did not leave us without comments for long. I did not expect it on a nature tour but I learned so much! The food arrangements were good as well, and although we had dinner on the bus, it was tasty and fresh. A special thank you to the driver for making the trip smooth and pleasant. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone. Note: if you are travelling on Sunday, it is so much quieter! It gives you an opportunity to immerse yourself in the nature without having lots of fellow tourists on the way.

Our party of 6 had a great tour with Aiden Bell. His insight, knowledge and gentle humor made the day fun. ¡° My son and I took this wonderful day tour from Edinburgh that visits so many beautiful and historic sites in the lowlands of Scotland. The history of Scotland is rich and complex and our tour guide (Willie) really made the places we visited come alive. His knowledge of Scottish history and culture at so many levels was remarkable and his commentary made the entire trip enjoyable and very educational. I would highly recommend this day tour to anyone staying in the beautiful city of Edinburgh who wants to see some beautiful places of great importance in Scottish history. Visited May 2016

¡°  Great experience. It was wonderful leaving the driving to someone else while they tell you about the history of the lands. The driver had a great sense of humor and helped liven all of us up on parts of the drive. Staying overnight next to Loch Ness lake was a wonderful experience, and I loved being walking distance to the small town.

Rosslyn Chapel, Stirling and Dunfermline Tour Experience from Edinburgh (TourID: 1107)
Date: May 6, 2017

¡°  Willie, our tour guide, was fun, an historian, an excellent driver, and he conducted his tour like a well trained orchestra leader. As we drove from place to place, he told us Scotish folk tales, shared the history of Scotland, and kept us on schedule. Willie used his words to paint a beautiful and vivid tapestry of Scotland and its history. He peppered his stories with tragedy and humorous tales. I learned how to pronounce, Scotland, correctly. No one was ever late for a departure. We were all early. I believe we all did this out of respect for Willie and each other. Willie created a family out of 13 strangers. The sites chosen by Go Scotland Tours were perfect for us. We thoroughly enjoyed each destination and have already recommended this tour and this company to friends. We look forward to our next trip to Scotland.

¡°  GUIDE - Aidan Bell STGA

Driving with our tour guide, Aidan Bell, gave us a fun, informative, and "safe" way to explore Scotland, without having to drive ourselves! My family has such wonderful memories thanks to Aidan's inside knowledge of this beautiful land - each stop along the way made us feel like VIP's as we enjoyed our private tours - we didn't feel like tourists, but more like Explorer's as we learned so many fascinating and fun facts about agriculture, landscapes, history, castles, Scottish society, and of course Whiskey! We also enjoyed having Aidan take us on the journey to Loch Ness, through Elgin and Inverness - he made, what was a very long day, a very enjoyable one! I am so glad that I found Go Scotland Tours (thanks to my local AAA office): I received great detailed information from the staff ahead of time, so I felt we were in goods hands even before we landed in Scotland! We would recommend Go Scotland Tours to any of our friends and family - the diverse and interesting itineraries made our vacation planning so easy and gave us an inside look at this beautiful country that no tour book can do alone!

¡°  We had a fabulous day....really enjoyed our tour, and would readily recommend it to others. We don't drive, so it was a great way to see more of the area further afield from Inverness where we were based. I only have one complaint, and that is that we didn't go to the Corrimony Cairns, even though it was clearly mentioned in the title of our tour. I kept expecting to arrive there, but after a time it was obvious we were not going to be going at all. I did wonder why this was, but by the time we were cruising on Loch Ness, I realised it was too late to ask anyone.

And, I left my gift purchases in a bag on the bus and I was able to retrieve it first thing the next morning before my flight. The manager had it in his hands waiting outside. The buses were great too. Perfect tempature, I could hear Lara speak even over everyone else talking, there were plugs to charge my phone, and enough time in each place for the stops. Pick up in Glasgow was on time; our tour guide Stephan had saved us seats in the front of the bus, which we so appreciated; Stephan was great with very interesting information, music, and history; our stay in Skye was wonderful at the Pink Guest House; Stephan went out of his way to give us extra time sightseeing and making sure everyone saw everything we could possibly see. His side trips were great; the animals he made sure we saw were a highlight. We felt we had the best tour we could possibly hoped for. We would love to have a music track from Stephan if possible. Regular Group Shore Excursion Tour from Invergordon Cruise Port (TourID: 1243)
Date: July 3, 2016

¡°  A most enjoyable, educational and fun full day tour. Tour was booked independent of our cruise ship. Bus was on time and ready for us at pickup and we were returned to the ship slightly ahead of schedule. Tour guide was excellent and very well versed in Scotland's history and culture. He was always excited to be telling us about everything and even demonstrated ancient battle equipment and techniques...very interesting. Bus driver was very nice and quite skilled. Coach bus was modern and comfortable. A different aspect on this tour from other tours was lunch. Instead of stopping at a restaurant, each guest chose a custom, hand made sandwich from a list of about 10 different types. The sandwiches were waiting for us at a future stop, which we then ate on the bus as we travelled. A bottle of water was also provided. At first this sounded weird and not so enthralling, but that turned out to not be the case. Everyone liked it and it was a great idea! Thoroughly enjoyed that lunch. I highly recommend this tour.

¡°  We had an absolutely fabulous time on the beautiful trip! Our guide/driver was fantastic, told so many intresting stories and played great Scottish music as a very appropriate soundtrack for the trip, and then nice Sinatra stuff on the way back to Glasgow in the dark. Our only complaint has nothing to to with the arrangement of the tour, but we had the worst meal we ever had in The Moorings Restaurant in Fort Augustus. But that didn't dampen our spirits and we couldn't stop talking about how great the tour was afterwards. Give our regards to the guide, unfortunately we don't remember his name (Alex?). As we checked into our bed and breakfast each night, it was wonderful to know that it was already paid for and we didn't have to deal with carrying a lot of extra cash with us. The Tour itself was exceptional. Our guide, George, knows everything about the Outer Hebrides. He had a wonderful personality, and went out of his way so many times to make our trip memorable. I lost my glasses at one stop, and he jumped out of the bus, ran up a mountain to go look for them...that's way above and beyond! We also met great people from all over the world on the tour. ¡°  This tour was amazing! Andrew was an amazing host, a fantastic storyteller that knew the history and the stereotypes AND was easy to understand! He was Welsh so he had a light accent for the Americans to follow along but has lived in Scotland for a long time now. As for the Highland Experience tour, it was the perfect mix of touristy "must-see" things and simple off the beaten path stops. I liked that when it was raining on the Isle of Skye, he still stopped and found something for us to do so our day was not wasted. Overrall, just perfect, this was my 2nd trip with this company and just to let you know my husband and I are both in our early thirties so I would recommend this for any age! Also, make sure you upgrade to stay in the bed and breakfasts, the people alone at those places also made the trip memorable!

The Scottish Highlands Essential Experience Tour (TourID: 1094)
Date: August 29, 2016

¡°  Thank you for assembling such a fantastic tour of Scotland. Anthony, our tour guide, was an invaluable source of information, stories, humor and history. While the scenery was unbelievable, it was Anthony who made the tour a pleasure. I appreciated the comprehensive tour of the Highlands areas, the Isle of Skye and many other Scottish highlights. I can't imagine that I would have seen so much of Scotland any other way. The two days on Skye particularly were magical. The bed and breakfast options were first class every one of them was excellent and so welcoming. The Scottish breakfast each morning was delicious at each inn. My only feedback for improvement is to change the tour agenda in the last two days. The first half of the 5 day tour is really strong, but the last day and a half seemed weak to many of us on the tour (though pleasant) and seemed a bit like we were making things up to do rather than seeing some of the true highlights of Scotland. Once we left Skye, we visited Gardens and a lot of Miscellaneous places that are on no one's list of what they want to see in Scotland. We could have very easily have spent time at Sterling and St. Andrews, which would have given our group a complete tour of Scotland that most of us wanted since we could only be there for a week. Instead, I had to return home without seeing those places, and may never will. If those two experiences could be added to the 5 day tour, I think it would be a true Highlights of Scotland tour. Thank you again for a wonderful experience.

Stevie, the driver, was personable, knowledgeable, and careful. He guided but didn't interfere with the travel experience. This was my third trip to the Orkneys. I had been there in the mid-70s and again in 1982 when my sister and I spent a few days there. ¡°  I have had the opportunity to visit Scotland two times in the past year, and both times I have had the distinct pleasure of hiring your services for a day tour (once from Glasgow and once from Edinburgh). Your coaches are clean and comfortable, your drivers are super friendly and knowledgeable, and the tours are well thought out. If I am fortunate to make another trip to Scotland, I will definitely be booking another tour with you. Thank your for all you do to let us tourists experience your beautiful and magical land.

Orkney Islands Day Tour from Inverness (TourID: 1238)
Date: August 29, 2016

¡°  A lovely tour for the most part. The coach staff were pleasant and helpful. The coach was clean and comfortable and well driven except for the road north where it became very twisty and the driver was trying to catch up time so that we would be on time for the ferry at John o Groats. The coach was thrown round bends and dips making for a bit of a roller coaster ride and for the first time I became 'travel sick'. This was exacerbated by the fact the air con was switched off because passengers in the front felt a draught while those towards the rear were uncomfortably warm and in need of air. I was not the only passenger who felt unwell because of this. The journey south was much better.....the driving was more calm. The ferry across and the actual tour of Orkney was superb......and well worth the effort. The Orknet tour driver/ guide was excellent.....knowledgeable and humorous ......a pleasure to listen to. All in all I would recommend this tour to anyone. I really enjoyed it apart from the part of the journey mentioned above.

West Highlands and Jacobite Experience Tour (TourID: 1097)
Date: September 21, 2016

¡°  My husband and I thank you very much for this wonderful tour and experience! We loved every minute of it. Our guide, John Paul, was excellent. He was informative, courteous and fun. Some of the people on our tour could've been a little more fun - but that was their problem. We stayed at the Lovat hotel overnight and it was a beautiful hotel. Their staff could not have been nicer and it was super clean and just lovely. As I said, John Paul made the tour awesome for us. We loved the Jacobite steam train and honestly, everything about the tour! Your country is stunning. We got great pictures!! Heads up for the steam train - you should have everyone switch sides of the seating on the train going to and from. This way the same people don't get the same view each way and it's a little more fair to everyone. Thank you so much for a terrific experience. We would recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Loch Lomond, Whisky, and Stirling Castle Tour Experience from Edinburgh (TourID: 1102)
Date: August 20, 2016

¡°  The whole tour was excellent. The tour guide was knowledgeable and had great side stories to tell us. I only have two complaints: 1) When this tour is advertised it should be made clear extra costs are involved. For example: to take a tour of the Glengoyne facility. 2) Almost all of the tour of Stirling Castle was outside. Very little was in the castle. And that's the impression given for the 'tour' of Stirling Castle. I went with two girlfriends. We all enjoyed the day immensely. And we all agreed we would highly recommend it. But we would also tell anyone interested that there are more costs than just the Tour Experience cost.

¡°  I loved this tour! Stirling Castle was amazing! And we were given plenty of time to explore! Loch Lomond was out of control with how beautiful it was! And the Glengoyne Whisky tour was excellent! I was brave enough to try Scotland's favorite soda Iron Brew and had a bottle with me...I was teased by our guide about not mixing it with my whiskey! It was all in good fun! The country side was truly stunning! Also my guide was kind enough to drive a couple of blocks up the street to The Necropolis as I had walked 17 and a half miles the day before! Such a sweet thing to do! My feet and I thanked him!!! A wonderful experience!

Private Whisky and Castle Tour from Aberdeen (TourID: 1159)
Date: October 14, 2016

¡°  Guide - Aidan Bell

We were visiting Aberdeen for our son's wedding. We used Go Scotland Tours to book a private whisky distillery and Castle tour for our overseas wedding guests and family. Louise Jamieson was our tour co-ordinator and I can not say enough good things about her. Louise was very responsive and helpful and went above and beyond to organize the perfect tour for us. As most of us were not from Scotland, we wanted to tour the Aberdeen area as part of our tour, which Louise was happy to arrange. She suggested a distillery and castle that we could get to within the time frame available to us and arranged for a private lunch at the castle location. The whole day was perfect. The guide was very knowledgeable, the tours were very informative, lunch was fabulous and we kept to our timeable, which got us back in plenty of time for our evening plans. Thank you Louise and Go Scotland Tours. We would definitely use them again if the opportunity arose.

Loch Lomond, Whisky, and Stirling Castle Tour Experience from Edinburgh (TourID: 1102)
Date: August 31, 2016

¡°  Our tour offered us the chance to visit several beautiful and interesting locations. Stirling castle was a remarkable location. Several parts of the castle has been restored to their original appearance which offered a great contrast to other tours we had taken of castles that had simply been conserved in their present state. Our boat ride of Loch Lomond was an opportunity to see some of the beautiful area around the loch and enjoy some fish and chips along the way! Our tour guide and driver, Bruce, made the extra effort to buy our boat tickets and return to us while we waited in line for our take out lunches. Bruce was also a fun and entertaining driver; I would highly recommend any tour he leads. The stop at the charming whitewashed distillery nestled in the countryside was very interesting and a lovely setting. Bruce also made a couple extra stops throughout the day which were welcome additions to the trip. I would recommend Go Scotland Tours in general, this trip to these locations, and definitely our driver and guide, Bruce.

¡°  My family group of 7 had an amazing day on our Go Scotland Tour. We were treated to a day of fantastic sights with a very informative and entertaining commentary with complementary sound track from our wonderful driver and guide. We would highly recommend this tour, this tour company and our driver/ guide. My only suggestion would be that it might be helpful to provide a more detailed description of the pickup point for the bus as the street address provided was not entirely clear as google maps location which was correct did not match street numbers on buildings. Luckily we made it on time and had a truly memorable day. Thanks to all, Australian family, Jan 2017.

¡°  Guide - Mike O'Rourke

Hi, Mike,
You were most accommodating as a tour guide and you delivered a whirlwind tour of Glasgow, Skye, the Highlands and St. Andrews to meet our wishes and schedules.  Steve and I were very pleased with your plans, your commentary, and driving throughout.  There were highlights, of course Paisley, Skye, Dunvegan, St. Andrews with spectacular scenery in between.
You added a quick stop at Paisley Abbey and the University when we knew it shortened the time to reach Skye.  While planning the trip, I learned about one of my American ancestors who was baptized at Paisley in 1685, attended Glasgow University, and then left as a young man to make his fortune in the colonies.  This was James Castellaw.  You added the Abbey to our route at my request.
Do I remember correctly that from your research James was baptized by his father who was Rector of Paisley?  If so, can you point to a source for this?  We have a family genealogist who is very interested in this added information.  (That’s if I heard you correctly from the back seat.)
We like your comfortable style and your love of Scotland.  It’s one of the few places I’ve visited that’s even more beautiful onsite than in photos.  You’ve found your calling, for sure.
Many thanks,

Willard

¡°  Hi there, We thoroughly enjoyed our tour, was great to sit back and let someone else do the driving :) One problem we had that I would recommend changing, is the map on the booking. The map looks as if the bus station is in the same street as Bridge street, but is no where near it! Luckily my mother in law had seen the bus station the day before, so I then searched for it on google maps and it showed us the way. Thanks!

¡°  Our driver/tour guide was James. Thank you James for making our tour lively, informed and fun. The weather was changeable ranging from sunshine through rain to snow but we saw a great deal and had a great time while seeing it. James was mindful of the bitterly cold day and our stops were long enough to see what we wanted to see. Our party of 16 included people from Australia, Romania, USA, Netherlands, Germany and the UK; all were made welcome on the tour and were included one way or another in the commentary during the tour. 8 hours may seem a long time to go on a coach tour but this one's was definitely worth it with regular stops at interesting places; we would recommend this tour to everybody. Thank you.

The Isle of Skye Experience Tour from Glasgow (TourID: 1096)

¡°  I was pleasantly surprised by how intimate (aka small) my group was. There were only two passengers (including myself) and our driver cum guide, Brendon. It felt as if I paid for a private tour! The ride in our 16-seater Mercedes van with plush new leather seats made me feel like a VIP. I was surprised that the tour went ahead without being cancelled due to the lack of passengers. I had an absolutely fantastic time in the highlands and truly enjoyed every moment of it. The hostel was surprisingly a very comfortable stay despite sharing a building with a funeral parlour. Brendon has been a very easygoing, engaging and knowledgeable guide who provided us with lots of history on Scotland and background of the sites we visited. Though I must say I felt a little guilty for not being an attentive audience at all times (jet lagged and distracted by the beauty of the landscape). His rich knowledge in the history of Scotland has piqued my interest in the topic and I will continue to read more about it after the tour. It was overall a 100% enjoyable experience and I would highly recommend this tour to my friends though I will encourage them to opt for the longer tour option. My only recommendation is that it would probably be interesting to visit an actual distillery to learn about the whisky production processes. It's probably in another tour ;) Finally, I can't thank enough the nice chap (whose name slipped my mind) for driving me to my dinner appointment in Glasgow even though he wasn't obliged to. He kept apologising for being caught in bad traffic which was beyond his control. Truly a 5-star experience from start to end!

Our guide/driver Mark Ruis is very knowledgeable specially regarding Scottish history, has a great sense of humour , very chatty and helpful, a first class tour guide. The Islay Whisky tour consisted of visit to 6 whisky distilleries with tasting, we thoroughly enjoyed each one. We also enjoyed the breathtaking scenery on the island with exceptionally beautiful sunset. We were very lucky with the weather too as it was dry and sunny throughout our stay on the island. ¡°  Overall my family and I were very happy with the tour. Our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The attractions were wonderful and the schedule allowed enough time to enjoy them without feeling too rushed. The accommodations (B&B) were wonderful and had everything we needed with a warm welcome and beautiful settings. There were only 2 points that bear mentioning for improvement. On the Isle of Skye, we were put in the Kyle Hotel instead of a B&B and it was substandard. Poor WiFi, power blackouts, cramped and unpleasant rooms made the 2-night stay less than ideal. The other point involves the bus; the seats were VERY cramped. All in all, I would definitely recommend the tour and have done so already. We enjoyed our time and felt like we saw about as much of Scotland as you could possible cram into 5 days.

Date: May 1, 2017

¡°  My husband and I did the 1 Day Skye and Eilean Donan Castle Tour from Inverness (May 1 2017). At booking, I was a little skeptical about the legitimacy of the tour because the website isn't as polished as other tours but these Tours are a hidden gem! The differences are small but powerful: firstly, you're not on a midi-bus with up to 30 people, but rather in a small intimate minibus of 10-14 the perfect size. That small number means you can get on/off at more stops, more quickly and the sites you see aren't encumbered by a swarm of people. The bus itself is beautiful clean, leather seats, large windows and high ceilings with forced air and electrical outlets for your cameras/phones. However, the highlight for me was our guide, Helen. Though young in years, she has graduate-level preparation in history and culture studies so she seamlessly integrated music, folklore and facts into her commentary. She had great enthusiasm that kept the 12 hr long-tour exciting and upbeat. You will not regret choosing this tour!
